Reddit.com is a different type of social news site. It is designed to allow users to post either links or short text messages on some sort of wall. The information shared is expected to be of an informational on entertaining value. Then other users can vote on each post. They can either vote it up or down depending on how the feel about the content being provided and that is what is going to be used to determine the rank of the post. The rank of a post is what is going to determine whether or not that post deserves to be on the front page of the website.

Reddit.com came to the world in 2005. It was a creation of Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian but it was acquired in 2006 by Condé Nast Publications only to get split in 2011 to now be a subsidiary of Advance Publications, Condé Nast’s parent company.
Reddit.com is designed more like a bulletin board system where registered users submit entries. Those are called redditors. There are different categories of topics available on which one can submit an entry and depending on the performance of the content submitted the users may get more exposure. Reddit.com is a nice website to discuss hot issues.
